Sexual Health, Impotence, Health Care
Impotence – is often experienced by men aged mature. Herbal remedies are now believed to cure this disease. Ginger, for one.
Impotence is not a matter of sexual dysfunction, but as a signal of more serious health problems, such as heart disease or diabetes. Generally, a person’s inability to achieve or maintaining an erection due to insufficient blood supply to the penis.
Kathi Keville and Peter Korn, author of Herbs for Health and Healing, argues that poor circulation can cause impotence in men because the blood vessels are damaged or disturbed for failing to fill with blood and spread it on the penis. They also say that certain herbs, such as ginger, can help increase the dilation of blood vessels and improve circulation, as reported by LIVESTRONG.
Author of the book Herbs for Health and Healing, Kathi Keville and Peter Korn said that poor blood circulation can cause impotence in men. According to them, certain herbs, such as ginger can help improve the dilation of blood vessels and improve circulation, as reported by LIVESTRONG.
According to the Physicians’ Desk Reference for Herbal Medicines, the active compound in ginger is gingerol, shogaol and zingiberene, shown to have some effect on blood vessels. For example, researchers at Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University in Japan found that gingerol stimulates contraction of blood vessels in tissue samples of mice with set of signaling molecules known as eicosanoids.
However, PDA warned that ginger should not be used in conjunction with blood thinners because of the increased risk of bleeding. In addition, ginger can enhance the effects of insulin or glucose-lowering medication.
In his book, Herbal Aphrodisiacs from Around the World, Clarence Meyer revealed that the same substance in ginger is also responsible for stimulating arousal due to the warm spicy aroma and flavor contained therein. In fact, in Asia and Arab culture, it is considered an aphrodisiac scent of ginger. Ginger even referenced in the Kama Sutra, an ancient Indian Hindu text for the art of giving and receiving sexual pleasure.
